about me

Welcome …

I am finally doing what I have always enjoyed doing – drawing and painting! This ‘background’ career started early in my life and much time has been spent trying to improve it.

I was schooled in philosophy at UBC and SFU while I worked in banking and for the last decade, I worked in transit. Throughout this time I worked on my drawing and painting, aided by courses taken at the Vancouver School of Art. I joined the South Delta Artists Guild about twenty years ago but family responsibilities took priority and I rejoined the guild three years ago and I am so glad to be back creating and doing what I love.

I am currently going to weekly life drawing classes at the guild and I also paint plein air when I can. I do commissions, when asked, working from photos. I have been showing my paintings at the SDAG and in local libraries and hospitals. I am also looking into social media options for showing my work.

“The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow … Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”                       -Kurt Vonnegut
